OPEN will host an enlightening conversation with the founder of Caravan Stage Company, Paul Kirby, as we explore the intersection between the art and the topics this timely work represents. He will be joined on a panel by Dr. David Randle, Director of the Patel College of Global Sustainability and Dr. Ella Schmidt, Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of South Florida. This event is a Nomadic Tempest is a take on migration and immigration through art and dialogue. It would be a conversation with Paul Kirby and his creative team of Caravan Stage Company on their upcoming production of Nomadic Tempest, which chronicles the plight of migrants through the lens of the monarch butterfly. With this as the backdrop we invite a few more folks in the immigrant / rights community to join them on stage for discussion and public Q&A. Possible introduction by Kathy Castor. The event will be a fundraiser and PR campaign to benefit the company a week before the production begins.
