Going Coastal: Salt Pond Hike

Weedon Island is home to several salt ponds. These ponds are tidally influenced by the saltwater at high tides, but also by freshwater during rain events. Join UF/IFAS Extension Sea Grant Agent Libby Carnahan to learn about the unique ecosystems of salt ponds and the animals who live there. We will walk a combination of dirt and boardwalk trails.

Suitable for all ages. Throughout the hike we will walk approximately 1-2 miles. It is suggested to wear comfortable walking shoes, dress appropriate for the weather, and bring a water bottle.
