Wear Yellow! Solar Co-Op Press Conference

WEAR YELLOW and come out to support the City of St. Petersburg, Solar United Neighbors of Florida, the League of Women Voters of St. Petersburg Area, and the Suncoast Sierra Clubs.

These groups are launching the first of three metro area solar cooperatives to raise public awareness to the many benefits of going solar, help folks save money on residential PV, and make going solar easier; while broadening the network of solar supporters in FL. Solar United Neighbors will host three solar Co-ops, beginning with the St. Pete Winter Solar Co-op.

This press conference will formally launch The St. Pete Co-Op and highlight the benefits and opportunities they provide to area residents.

Speakers will include:
– St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman,
– St. Petersburg City Councilmember Darden Rice,
– League of Women Voters of St Pete Area Board Secretary/Co-Chair Sustainability Action Team Lisa Vanover,
– Solar United Neighbors of Florida State Director Angela DeMonbreun,
– past co-ops members and Co-op coordinators.

In 2017, the St. Petersburg City Council provided funding for the solar co-op coordinator position supporting this initiative in support of its Ready for 100 commitment.
