True Stories Storytelling Show
February 13, 2018 @ 7:00 pm
FLAME ON!
Take note, storytellers, February 13 is a TUESDAY. Because Valentines Day. Like it doesn’t get enough attention.
David Warner, editor of Creative Loafing, will be the featured storyteller in February.
So we’re hitting it slant. Our February theme will be “Flames.” Maybe you have a story about an old love or a new one, maybe you burned somebody who deserved it, or maybe you have a story about an actual conflagration? Or all the above? We wanna know! At the end of the night, a winner will be chosen.
Anyone in the audience may be selected randomly to tell their story — but the cut off is five minutes! So know your first and last sentences, so you can get to the finish line when the ukulele starts to play. Yes. We have a ukulele, and we’re not afraid to use it!
Get to Hawthorne Bottle Shoppe early to grab a sandwich and a drink, and get your name in the fuckit bucket for a chance to tell us about your FLAMES (or lack thereof). Admission is $5. RSVP here.
Every show is a once-in-a-lifetime event — we don’t know what’s going to happen. If you get called up, know your first and last sentence, and take us somewhere, and maybe YOU’LL be the featured teller someday. Our storytellers use no notes and no props.
Believe it or not, we’re a Keep St. Pete Lit event.
Hosted by Lisa L. Kirchner.
